We can’t wait to meet you

Alluvium is a kind of soil. A very fertile soil deposited by water. You can find alluvial soils along rivers, or in floodplains, in the large soil fans left once the water receeds. These soils differ from most other soils in that they do not require millennia of rock transformation to form. Instead, sand, clay, silt and gravel are carried and then deposited in a stream bed, or on a floodplain or beach. These sediments layer and layer upon themselves forming the richest soil known to those who farm these lands.

We look at therapy that way. As a powerful vehicle working to build layers of resilience in our client’s lives, from which many many things can grow.

We hope to meet you soon.

Lets be real - Therapy should never be about helping people adjust to oppression, and usually - that’s exactly what we’re doing. The somatics of social justice guide us to prepare the body, not to perceive safety where there is little, but to better struggle and to better survive and to better experience joy, in the midst of so much uncertainty, fear, trauma, and danger.

OUR METHODS

  • Focus

It all starts by getting a sense of your goals for therapy. We learn from you where you want to focus. We then introduce our practice modalities and the frameworks we will work from.

  • Reflect

Next, you’ll reflect on what may be blocking you, and learn how to cope with daily stressors while you overcome these obstacles.

  • Refine

We learn how to continually refine, adapt and adjust for life, keeping your core self in the driver’s seat.

We gladly accept several insurances.
